MANDY'S TAKE
“Finally, Carman’s puts wholefood nuts first. With 62% nuts and seeds, plus 17g of protein, this is one of their most nourishing bars yet. Yes, glucose is the second ingredient (not ideal), but the overall sugar is relatively low at 14g, especially compared to their other muesli bars. You’ve got healthy fats, fibre, and enough protein to actually keep you full. It’s not perfect, sitting right on the edge between OKAY and GOOD due to the glucose, but it’s still a major step in the right direction. At $11.50 for 10, you’re getting great value for a bar with genuine nutritional substance.”

THE VERDICT
This bar sits on the borderline between OKAY and GOOD, and just tips over thanks to its wholefood foundation, high protein, and lower-than-expected sugar. While we’d always prefer dates to glucose, Carman’s has clearly shifted priorities here by putting real food ingredients first. This is proof that with a few smart tweaks, even mass-market bars can move toward genuinely nutritious territory. It’s not an everyday option for toddlers, but for adults and active teens, it’s a solid upgrade.
