“KOJA is one of the few brands genuinely trying to raise the bar –  and mostly succeeding. With just 10.9g sugar per 100g, it delivers almost 50% less sugar than most commercial bars, without relying on ultra-processed ingredients or additives. There’s plenty to love: a short, transparent ingredient list, no vegetable oils, no artificial nasties, and real food inclusions like pumpkin seeds (school-friendly), chia seeds, coconut and oats. The added chicory root fibre pushes total fibre to an impressive 16.2g, though it may be too much for sensitive tummies.
It’s not perfect. The brown rice syrup could be swapped for a less processed sweetener, and we’d love to see more wholefood fibre sources — but this is a rare example of a packaged bar that puts kid’s health first and tastes good.

THE VERDICT

KOJA has genuinely innovated in a category drowning in sugar. With a third of the sugar and triple the fibre of competitors, this is a bar I can actually recommend. The prebiotic benefits are a bonus. Proof that food manufacturers CAN do better when they try!
