MANDY'S TAKE
“This bar is a classic example of misleading marketing. With fruit imagery on the packaging, “low fat” and “high fibre” claims, and a 3-star Health Star Rating, it gives the impression of being a reasonable snack, especially for school kids. But when we analyse the ingredients, it tells a very different story. Glucose syrup is the first ingredient, and it’s made up of ultra-processed sugars, refined starches, flavourings, thickeners, and virtually no real fruit. Despite the health claims, this is a highly processed product that belongs in the confectionery aisle — not a lunchbox.”

THE VERDICT
This bar is a textbook case of health-washing — with fruit graphics, fibre claims, and a 3-star Health Star Rating disguising what’s essentially an ultra-processed snack. Behind the clever branding is a mix of sweeteners, additives, and barely any real fruit. It’s designed to appeal to well-meaning parents, but it doesn’t belong in a child’s lunchbox. The only reason it avoided our lowest score is the absence of artificial colours. Its 1/5 Real Food Rating is well deserved.
