MANDY'S TAKE

“This bar earns a strong 4 out of 5 stars on the Real Food Rating (RFR) scale. With 47% peanuts, natural sweetness from dates, and real ingredients like faba bean protein, coconut, and maca powder, it’s a great option for families looking for a nourishing, wholefood-based snack.
It does contain a few processed ingredients, including soluble tapioca fibre, sunflower lecithin, and natural caramel flavour, but they’re used in small amounts and don’t significantly compromise the overall quality. The fibre may come from IMO (isomalto-oligosaccharide), which behaves more like sugar in the body and is considered ultra-processed in most forms.
While the Health Star Rating gives it 5 stars, the Real Food Rating system gives it 4 stars because we assess not just nutrients, but ingredient quality, food processing, and additive load. It’s still one of the better bars out there — just not 100% wholefood.”

THE VERDICT

A well-balanced bar made mostly from wholefoods like peanuts and dates, and coconut, with solid fibre and protein. It does contain a few processed ingredients, including soluble tapioca fibre, faba bean protein concentrate, and a small amount of natural flavour. Overall, this is a good store-bought bar, far better than many other snack bars on our supermarket shelves, earning it a 4/5 Real Food Rating (RFR).
